Mind Questing takes you to unutilized aspects of the mind where new potency and creativity is available for your use.  We presently use such a limited amount of our intelligence.  Each one of us has access to an unlimited mind field of potential.  Unfortunately, as creatures of conditioning we are taught how to think and then we simply rethink and redo all that was cultivated.  We work and exist in a small section of the landscape of our mind, never venturing to explore the boundless lands of our human potential.  Mind Questing is a process of journeying beyond the fences of your upbringing.

It is the process of quieting the mind to see the guardrails that have been crafted around your thinking.  It takes courage to begin to ask why?  Why do I think this is true?  Who taught me that? Are these teachers and influencers really a reliable source?  Is this information actually meaningful and helpful in my life?  Can I just eliminate it as an active thought process that is contributing to my decision making?

These are the questions necessary to begin the Questing.  You want to find a clear and untainted space in the mind to reflect and access your own wisdom.  Until you can find the silent space in your mind, you won’t be able to approach clear wisdom, you will always simply be replaying your conditioning.  So step one to the art of Mind Questing is maneuvering through brain rubble to the oasis of silent sands.

Self Discovery Coaching is a great way to get help with Mind Questing.

Most religions have their own version of the creation story.  We all want to know where we came from and who we really are. The bible story of the Garden of Eden is known by many people.  But how many actually believe it is a literal truth?  Probably not many.  Was it just a story to explain where we came from because our existence needed to have a beginning?

Did we really reside with God in a beautiful garden living peacefully?  We apparently existed in harmony with the animals and God himself.  And then we choose to know more, to desire knowledge over peaceful bliss.  The essence of human nature is our curiosity and need to understand through experience.  So did the God of this Garden of Eden,  that created our curious nature, really kick us out because of it?

Or was there actually some deeper truth hidden within a simple tale?  Could it be that we are blessed with the right to choose, and that our curious nature leads us into situations that we can learn through first hand experience?  Perhaps we are just not content with peaceful bliss, we want to know all the possibilities of human nature, and therefore choose the road of experience so that we can feel and know it for our selves.

I am thinking that the story of Eden is a metaphor for our natural condition.  Perhaps we originally did reside in peaceful bliss with God.  And yet, we choose to experience life for our selves.  Many enjoy their trip through life and all the rich, meaningful experiences it has to offer.  Others want to know all adventures, even dark ones, no matter what the outcome.  They will choose tragic choices and venture down the road to despair and yet they seem to be willing to accept the pain for the privilege of the experience.  We all know people who make what we would classify as ridiculous choices, knowing they will get themselves into trouble.  And yet these people make those choices even when anyone could see the result.  It is almost as if they want the tragic outcome, as if they want the experience regardless of the fallout.

If so, then everyone is are welcome to experience the life of their choosing. After all, if this God who created us is fine with us tripping down some dark and painful alleys, why should we interfere with those around us who are seeking challenging adventures?  Perhaps we should mind our own business and allow each other to taste the sweet and salty, or bitterness of life as they so chose.

What if we are also welcome to return to Eden anytime we wish,  to once again reside in peaceful bliss?  What if the Garden of Eden is a state of mind and this Peace resides within us?

Meditation

Through meditation I have learned to go inside myself and awaken  a quiet, blissful and peaceful state of mind.  In this place I feel happy, content, worry free,  and as if everything is right in the world.   Have I returned to Eden? Perhaps if we returned to the mental state symbolized by the Garden of Eden on a more regular basis,  we would be able to live a life more in line with the simple beautiful conditions we generally associate with Eden.

I guess we wont know until we try.  I love meditation and the wonderful benefits it brings to my life.  But what if meditation is so much more than learning to relax and de-stress?  What if this simple tool actually awakened a completely different way of interacting with the world?  What if meditation and silencing the questioning mind was actually the gateway to return to the garden of Eden?

Definitely worth experimenting with the idea, don’t you think?

Just Stay Home

My goodness we have become crazy busy, highly efficient and very productive.  But are we happy being this busy?  Does it make us better people?  Just because we have gifts and abilities is there some rule of life that we have to use them all at every opportunity?  Aren’t you getting tired of the statement, “But … Continue reading “Just Stay Home”

My goodness we have become crazy busy, highly efficient and very productive.  But are we happy being this busy?  Does it make us better people?  Just because we have gifts and abilities is there some rule of life that we have to use them all at every opportunity?  Aren’t you getting tired of the statement, “But you are so good at it, won’t you please do this role for us.?”  Almost seems that to develop new skills and abilities will create more obligations and therefore more activities for us to get wrapped up in.

But I say screw it.  Develop skills and abilities just because you can.  Learn everything you want to.  Be amazing at anything you do.  Why?  Just for fun.  And when people notice how talented you are and desperately feel the need to have you use your new found abilities to better their organizations and lives…just say no thanks, go home and enjoy yourself.

It seems people may be laying low, hiding their talent so they don’t get asked to help.  Perhaps they are just too busy and don’t want to add more work into their already overwhelming lives.  They should not need to hide.  I say shine your light, be bold and magnificent.  AND be courageous enough to just say no to more activities.  We need to cherish our lives, and live the way that brings us the most joy.  Stop feeling obligated to help just because you have the abilities.  Other people could learn and develop the abilities as well.  They just don’t.

So go have fun, or go hangout and do nothing.  There is something so freeing about the art of doing absolutely nothing.  Have you tried it lately?  Have you spend whole evenings and weekends with no commitments and just bummed around and did what ever you felt like?  I’m telling you, the art of emptiness is something we have long lost as a society.  I say we reclaim it and just stay home.

Life Purpose

My thoughts about my purpose in the world:   I have been asked this question many times, “How do I find my purpose, how do I discover my special function in the world?” I also ask myself this same question on a regular basis.  I work to remind myself of what I have come to believe … Continue reading “Life Purpose”

My thoughts about my purpose in the world:

I have been asked this question many times, “How do I find my purpose, how do I discover my special function in the world?”

I also ask myself this same question on a regular basis.  I work to remind myself of what I have come to believe about my life purpose.

I used to always seek divine guidance for what would be the best use of my gifts in this world.  But I have learned that the question implies that the world needs my help.  This comes from a deep anchor in Christianity and trying to do what God would have me do.  The Course in Miracles has helped me to see that everything I do is about helping myself to learn.  This is not a messed up world that God needs me to rescue.  The course would teach us that we are all just playing with a massive illusion in our minds and that all is well in the eyes of God. (or whatever the big ‘power that is’ likes to be called)

So if I teach healing it is because I need to understand and learn healing, there really isn’t anyone else to teach and heal.

If I teach business because I find that an interesting game to make money…so what.  If I feel that I must teach entrepreneurship to help other business owners make money because they are so uneducated and needy, then I am flying along a lovely path down EGO lane.

Everything we do through our daily life is a path we have chosen to learn something we want to learn.  It is sobering to realize that there is no real and authentic purpose to what we do, that we are not indeed saving anyone or being the great influencer that our EGO wants us to believe we are.

It is humbling to realize that we each need to learn and thus we craft life situations to teach ourselves.  We bring it all on ourselves.

The stumbling block for me is always…ok if I don’t need to heal and help others…what the heck do I do next?  It is so deeply ingrained this path of the helper, I just can’t see beyond the veil.  But I am working on it.

What if we all could just chose the path that was the most fun and that will create the financial exchange to let us get whatever we want and need? Wouldn’t that just be more interesting?

I believe the purpose of life is to prove to ourselves that it is all an illusion and we can craft it anyway we want.  I think we need to master the illusion before it will ever release us, or before we finally stop playing with it because we now see through it.

Perhaps our special function is only what we believe it is, thus we live that function for a while so we can learn that in truth…it is NOT who we are.  Thus we continue to create new life purpose for ourselves as we walk through all the life lessons we feel we need to understand.

I have come to the conclusion that I have no purpose in this life, and it is very freeing!
